T R A N C E- Malayalam Movie Review

Overview:

Trance, directed by Anwar Rasheed, is exploring a new style of story telling in malayalam Film industry. Each frame has its freshness; obviously the credits go to Amal Neerad, DOP of the film. Even though the movie failed to give us a memorable song, it has got some interesting background scores to offer. Music directors Jackson Vijayan and Sushin Shyam have given us a treat in this movie. Fahad, who plays the lead role (Pastor Joshua Calton) is impressive. This is surely one of his finest performance. The plot which the film talks about is controversial and it is a socially relevant topic. This plot gives life to the film. Second half of the film was bit disappointing when compared to the energy the film has given through first half of the film. The film is a visual treat and it won’t disappoint you. Overall it is a one time watchable flick👍

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

More Into the Movie:

Trance is a revolution to malayalam cinema. Those who love the art of cinema should watch this film for sure. The theatrical experience this film gives is beyond what you expect from a malayalam cinema. Trance has experimented a new way of story telling. It is the best craft of Anwar Rasheed till the date. Even with the best visual and audio output in the film, the part which has its flaws is its script. The weakness of the script has been evident throughout the second half of the film. The climax sequences are not satisfactory. The film loses its logic in some scenes of the second half. But still the movie succeeds in grabbing the attention of audience because of its technical brilliance and energetic acting performance of Fahad Faasil. The plot of the movie brings a freshness and it’s important for us to talk about it internationally; to bring in such a sensational and controversial issue to the frames, you need some nerves. This is an international film, when we look about the plot and technical brilliance of the cinema. The film is a journey through Viju’s life. Vinayakan’s character was also well portrayed, especially during the climax sequences. But all the other characters of the movie was not well established. Nazriya, Soubin, Chemban and Gautham Menon were not given space to perform.
