Overview:
Ayyapanum Koshiyum talks about the rivalry between Ayyappan Nair, Sub Inspector Of Police in Attapady and Koshy Kurian, a hot headed young man. The whole rivalry between them is being focussed in the movie. Even the movie satisfies the viewer in me aesthetically, I strongly believe the film has less grip on the audience. The movie misses a fresh approach, that affects badly for the flow of the movie. Performances from Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon were outstanding, especially Biju who has surprised me with such a bold, arrogant role. Even minor character brought out their best in acting. From the lady Constable in Ayyappan Nair’s station, his wife to the driver of Koshi, his father all were stunning. Music by Jakes Bejoy was strong throughout the movie. Overall it is a one time watchable strictly average movie👍
More into the movie:
The conflict between Ayyappan and Koshi starts off from a trivial issue and later that issues develop from the egos of both of them. The dialogues between the two was written beautifully with a satire stitched behind each dialogue. The morale of the viewer is put on to question here. Both of the characters are being portrayed in the grey side. The women characters such as wife of Ayyappan Nair and Lady Constable of Ayyappan Nair’s Station is as strong as anyone else in the movie. Sachy, director of the movie is successful in engaging the audience without a fresh plot. The movie is an old wine in a new bottle, that’s all. The performances by the actors and the music by Jakes Bejoy is the standing out elements of the film. Cinematography by Sudeep Elamon was a decent attempt. The end given to the movie was so predictable and the director has failed to engage the viewers with some content. The length of the movie brings in so much of avoidable lag in the film. The dialogues were lit throughout the movie. The relationship between Ayyappan and his wife and Koshi and his father was interesting. Just watch the cinema for the actors who have given their best and also for the good music it has got. The wildness of Ayyappan and the vigour of Koshi can stun you.
